Google is bringing its new Fitbit Air fitness tracker to India in October 2026. The company has confirmed the India launch, giving fitness and wearable fans another reason to look beyond traditional smartwatches. The exact launch date and Indian price are still under wraps, but the Fitbit Air is already attracting attention because of one unusual decision: it has no screen at all.
A Fitness Tracker Without a Screen
Unlike most fitness bands and smartwatches, Fitbit Air does not show notifications, time or workout information directly on your wrist. Instead, it quietly collects health and fitness data while you wear it, with the information available through the Google Health app.
That screen-free approach may sound strange at first, but it has a practical advantage. There is less temptation to constantly check your wrist. Google has designed the Fitbit Air to be small, lightweight and comfortable enough for 24/7 use, including during sleep.
Health Tracking Is the Main Focus
The Fitbit Air is built primarily around health and wellness tracking. Google says it can monitor 24/7 heart rate, heart rhythm, SpO₂, resting heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), sleep stages and sleep duration.
It can also automatically detect and track common workouts. Users can then view their activity and health trends through the Google Health app.
Google is also connecting Fitbit Air with its Google Health Coach, which uses AI to provide more personalized health and fitness guidance. The Health Coach is already being rolled out in India as part of Google Health Premium.
Battery Life Could Be a Big Advantage
One of the most useful features is battery life. Google claims the Fitbit Air can last up to seven days on a charge. The company also says five minutes of fast charging can provide up to a day of power.
For a device designed to track sleep and daily activity continuously, longer battery life is important. You don’t want to remove the tracker every night just to charge it.
Fitbit Air India Price
Google has not announced the official Indian price yet. In the US, the standard Fitbit Air starts at $99.99, while the Stephen Curry Special Edition costs $129.99.
The Indian price could be different because of taxes, distribution and Google’s local pricing strategy. So, any ₹10,000 or ₹15,000 figure currently circulating online should be treated as an estimate, not an official price.
Should You Wait for the India Launch?
If you are interested in Fitbit Air, waiting for the official Indian launch makes sense. You will get clarity on pricing, availability and local warranty support instead of importing the device from another country.
The bigger question is whether a screenless tracker fits your lifestyle. If you want notifications, GPS navigation and apps on your wrist, a smartwatch will make more sense. But if your priority is sleep, fitness and health tracking without another distracting screen, Fitbit Air could be an interesting option.
Google has confirmed that Fitbit Air is coming to India in October 2026. Now, the only major pieces missing are the exact launch date and Indian price.
